Private Limited: minimum 2 directors
OPC: minimum 1 director
Public Limited: minimum 3 directors
Maximum 15 directors unless the company follows the Companies Act process to increase that cap

Documents from the director?

PAN, residence proof, DIN declarations, consent letter.

Documents from the company?

Board resolution for appointment and letter of appointment.

What is a consent letter?

Written approval from the person being appointed as director.

MCA form?

Form DIR-12. Filing fee within time limit is Rs. 300.

Who can be a director?

Age 18+, sound mind, solvent, and not disqualified by conviction rules in the Act.

Maximum age?

No general maximum age; managing director has a 70-year limit unless special approval is taken.
